ScrollTrap is an Android self-discipline application designed to help users reduce automatic scrolling and stay in control of distracting apps. The public app name is ScrollTrap and the Android package name is com.scrolltrap.app.

ScrollTrap is designed to be local-first. The app stores Gates, protected apps, limits, timers, intentions, scheduled blocks and focus statistics on your device so it can enforce the rules you choose. We do not sell personal data. We do not use protected app data for advertising, profiling or third-party marketing.

Depending on the features you use, ScrollTrap may process the following data:

• Apps you choose to add to Gates, including app names and package names.
• Gate settings such as daily opens, session duration, delays and reset time.
• Intentions selected before opening a protected app.
• Usage events needed to count openings, timers, sessions, blocks and streaks.
• Notification state related to timers, sessions and scheduled blocks.
• Pro status or purchase state when you use paid features.

This data is used to provide ScrollTrap features and is stored locally whenever possible.

• Usage Access / Usage Stats: used to detect when a protected app is opened and to count openings or sessions for Gates.
• Display over other apps: used to show the ScrollTrap Gate screen above a protected app when a rule applies.
• Accessibility, where enabled by the user: used to improve app-opening detection and enforcement reliability on supported Android devices.
• Notifications: used for session timers, active blocks and reminders linked to the rules you set.
• Battery optimization / background execution settings: used to keep ScrollTrap reliable while monitoring protected apps and timers.

These permissions are used only for user-selected self-discipline and blocking features. They are not used to monitor other people, show ads or build advertising profiles.

ScrollTrap does not sell, rent or share your personal data with third parties for advertising or marketing. Data such as protected app lists, Gates and focus stats is intended to remain on your device unless a future optional cloud feature is clearly introduced and enabled by you.

If ScrollTrap uses platform services such as Google Play Billing, Google Play may process purchase and subscription information according to Google's own policies. ScrollTrap does not receive your full payment card details.

ScrollTrap may receive basic diagnostics or crash information through Android or Google Play developer tools to help identify stability issues. These diagnostics are used to improve reliability and are not used for advertising. We do not use them to sell or profile your app usage.

ScrollTrap may offer paid Pro features. Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Google Play Billing or another clearly identified payment provider. Payment details are handled by the payment provider, not directly by ScrollTrap.

Local ScrollTrap data remains on your device until you delete it, reset app data or uninstall the app. You can delete local data from Android system settings by clearing ScrollTrap app data or uninstalling ScrollTrap.

ScrollTrap is not designed for children and is not a parental control product. It is intended for users who choose to manage their own phone habits and self-discipline.

We aim to limit data processing to what is necessary for ScrollTrap features. Local data is stored using Android app storage mechanisms. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, but we design ScrollTrap to minimize unnecessary data exposure.

We may update this Privacy Policy when ScrollTrap changes, when new features are added or when legal or platform requirements change. The latest version will remain available on this page.
